Faucet Repair

Faucet Repair in Pacifica and the Peninsula

A dripping faucet wastes thousands of gallons a year, and it usually comes down to a worn cartridge or a scored valve seat rather than a fixture that needs replacing. We repair kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor faucets across Pacifica, San Francisco, and Burlingame, and we tell you honestly when a repair will hold and when replacement is the better spend.

Faucet Repair and Replacement in Pacifica, San Francisco and Burlingame

Nearly every dripping faucet is one of three things: a worn cartridge or ceramic disc, a seat and spring that has scored over time, or a corroded supply connection weeping where nobody thinks to look. Which one it is decides whether this is a twenty minute repair or a fixture replacement, and you cannot tell from the outside.

Peninsula water is hard enough that mineral scale is the usual culprit. Scale chews through cartridges, seizes the ball joints in older pull-down sprayers, and clogs aerators until people assume the whole faucet has failed when the fix is a five dollar part. On the flip side, we see plenty of builder-grade fixtures that have already been rebuilt twice, where another repair is throwing money at a body that will keep failing.

So we open it up, find the actual failed part, and give you the honest call along with one flat price. Where both repair and replacement make sense, you get both numbers and we explain what each buys you. Book a free estimate any time, no obligation.

What’s included

  • Cartridge, ceramic disc and valve seat repair
  • Kitchen pull-down and sprayer repair
  • Bathroom centerset and widespread faucets
  • Outdoor hose bib and sillcock replacement
  • Shower and tub mixing valve repair
  • Supply line, aerator and shut-off replacement

How the job goes

  • We take the faucet apart, identify the failed part, and check the supply lines and shut-offs while we are under there, then quote one flat price.
  • You approve the price, and our licensed tech does the work from a fully stocked truck, so most jobs finish in a single visit without a parts run.
  • We run the faucet through hot and cold at full flow, check for weeping at the base and the supply connections, and clean out the cabinet before we leave.

Why homeowners choose Works

Every faucet repair comes with upfront pricing, licensed and background-checked technicians, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Works Plumbing holds California contractor license #982663, carries full bonding and insurance, and holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

We are a plumbing-only shop, which means the tech at your door has spent years on this exact work rather than splitting time across three trades. Our crews are drug tested as well as background checked, and dispatch is staffed by real people around the clock. No surprises, no commission-driven upsells, no pressure, ever.

Pro tip

Unscrew your aerator once a year and rinse the screen. On Peninsula water it packs with mineral scale within months, and a clogged aerator is the single most common reason people think a faucet has lost pressure. It costs nothing to check and it saves a service call more often than you would expect.

Should I repair or replace my faucet?

It depends on the fixture. A solid brass faucet from a known brand is usually worth repairing, because the body will outlast several cartridges and parts are easy to source. A thin builder-grade unit that has already been rebuilt once or twice is money better spent on replacement. We will tell you which camp yours falls into, give you both prices where both are viable, and let you decide. Our techs are not on commission, so we have no stake in the answer.

Why does my faucet drip even when it is turned off tight?

Because the part that creates the seal has worn, and tightening the handle harder only accelerates the damage. In a cartridge faucet the rubber or ceramic seal has degraded. In an older compression faucet the washer has flattened and the brass seat underneath is often scored as well, which is why replacing just the washer does not always hold. Both are straightforward repairs once we know which design you have.

Can you fix an outdoor faucet that leaks when the hose is on?

Yes, and it is worth doing before winter. Most outdoor leaks are either a failed packing washer at the stem or a cracked sillcock body from a past freeze. A leaking hose bib also tends to be leaking into the wall cavity as well as onto the ground, which is the part homeowners do not see. We replace the bib and check the connection behind it for damage.

How long does a faucet repair take?

Most cartridge and washer repairs are finished in a single visit, including testing. A full faucet replacement depends on how corroded the old supply connections are and whether the shut-offs under the sink still work, which on older Pacifica and San Francisco homes they often do not. We carry common cartridges and angle stops on the truck so it stays a single visit.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Works Plumbing holds California contractor license #982663, carries full bonding and liability insurance, and is accredited with an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Every technician who comes to your door is background checked and drug tested, and arrives in a marked Works van in uniform. If you want to verify the license before booking, you can look it up on the California Contractors State License Board website.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes, and there is no obligation attached to it. We come out, diagnose the actual fault, and give you one flat price covering parts and labor before any work starts. If you decide not to book, you owe nothing and we will not chase you with follow-up calls. We would rather you had an honest number to compare than feel cornered into a decision at the door.
